RYAN WALSH AIMS TO CONTINUE FAMILY MOMENTUM

British featherweight champion (and Team Southpaw Jab member) Ryan Walsh plans to pick up right where his brother Liam left off when he returns to the ring next month to defend his title against Lewis Paulin.

Walsh (23-2-2, 11 KOs) faces Paulin when #MTKFightNight heads to York Hall in London on June 28, live on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and also available on iFL TV.

His fight comes just a few weeks since brother Liam made a successful comeback after two years out of the ring, and Ryan is hoping to make it a successful period for the family.

Walsh said: “It will have been nearly six months since my last fight so I’m really excited to be back in the ring. I couldn’t be any happier since joining MTK Global and they’ve been able to get me a fight already after just two months with them.

“More than anything they were able to get my brother Liam a fight. When it comes to him fighting, I might as well be fighting too, as when he wins it feels like I win too.

“His victory earlier this month has given me a massive boost and now I can’t wait to return. My opponent has my full attention and respect because he has accepted to fight me, whereas a lot of the other guys seem to find every excuse to dodge me.

“I don’t know a tremendous lot about him, but I know he’s a very fit, young and hungry fighter that is trying to take my title, so I’ll be prepared.”

The event at York Hall also sees unbeaten Chantelle Cameron face Anisha Basheel in a final eliminator for the WBC lightweight title, while exciting star Ohara Davies takes on former world champion Miguel Vasquez.
