Southpaw Jab favourite, Tyson Fury, is to return to the ring after two and a half years out, he has announced. The lineal heavyweight champion has signed to Frank Warren’s stable, and has a fight date of June 9th in Manchester planned. No opponent has been announced yet, but Shannon Briggs is a betting favourite, with Warren having apparently advised Tyson to have two or three warm ups before competing at world level. Despite inactivity and drugs of both the performance enhancing and recreational kind tarnishing his reputation, Fury is a unique talent in the ring, and inimitable character outside of it.
The already exciting heavyweight division just had a wild card entrant! Exciting times for boxing.
